Off-Line Television Captioning
Off-line television captioning is a process whereby captioning is added to the television program as it airs. In off-line television captioning, the captionist captions live programs from the comfort of his/her own home via a modem to the television station. Computer-Aided Interpretation, LLC and the Louisiana Public Broadcasting, WAFB and WBRZ stations have partnered for the past few years presenting captioning programs for a variety of programs and audiences.
